Not the forum to discuss potential Duquette firing. The idea of changes in the organization will be discussed in the opening breakfast this morning.
Press conference today? Not a timetable for these discussions. We went out to celebrate last night at Italian restaurant. Walked into Carabbas and hostess said 'you are all with the Red Sox', I have something for you, I opened a bottle of Nantucket Nectars and the cap said 'the Red Sox will win the World Series next year'. Maybe this is a good omen.
Schedule of events today:
8:30 breakfast meeting. 11:00 conference call with partnership group. Will be in offices, then game tonight.

Have you been evaluating Kerrigan? We've been getting to know people, being observers each day. 'You can observe alot by looking' as Yogi said. We had dinner with Joe. Impressions are camp is running well, high level of productivity, things going smoothly.
We're trying to turn the page for ourselves and our franchise. Try to begin with a fresh start. 40 games is not an exceptionally long period of time.
Lee Thomas was successful GM, has defined and specific role. Mike Port, was successful GM for many years, has a defined role. The GM is a uniquely important person with player evaluation rolls. One of the rocks.
To do list:
- Renovation of Fenway... the short-term one, improving the atmosphere, look, etc. by Opening Day.
- More casual interaction with players and coaches, better lines of communication.
- Opening gates earlier on weekend... whole mix of things, some large, some small. We'll bring our style and experience to bear.
- Pedro has been great. Funny with kids shagging flies. All the players have been as friendly and available. Rickey signing autographs, Nomar came over. Good availability and relaxation here.
Are players just as excited? There is a sense of excitement among the fans and players.
Revenue stream idea: make Fenway more like Camden Yards and Jacob's Field.

The “Curt’s Pitch for ALS” program is a joint effort by Curt and Shonda Schilling, and The ALS Association Mass Chapter to strike out Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Curt and Shonda will be contributing $25,000 to The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter, and they are asking fans to contribute as well. All proceeds will benefit research and patient services for those in Massachusetts affected by the disease.
